From Friday to Sunday, June 13th to 15th, us along with Mom, Dad, James, and Candis went to Las Vegas! We stayed at the MGM Grand and they stayed in "querky" downtown on Fremont Street. We went to celebrate our beloved friend's 60th birthday! It was a blast! The plane ride home wasn't but I will save that til the end.

We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe On Friday after we got settled and boy that place is neat! Allie LOVED all the animals. They would move and make noises and then every 20 minutes there was a thunder and lightening storm with rain by the bar area. Very cool!
On Friday night we had dinner at the Hofbrau House. Wow, that place was kicking! It was a huge open place with no walls with benches and long tables so everyone kind of ate together even if you didn't know the person. There was a band singing drinking songs, horn blowers, a Hooters-type woman selling Jager shots, and waitresses dressed in authentic German outfits. Even Seigfred and Roy showed up for Seigfred's birthday! The band played Sweet Caroline and the entire place was standing up dancing and singing along. They sold beer by the liter (I got a baby beer), authentic German food, and you were guaranteed to have a good time.

On Saturday we walked from the MGM to the Mirage with James and Candis. In case you're not familiar with Vegas, that is a crazy freakin'walk! Take a taxi! But we made it, with a food stop at Magaritaville and visited the Secret Garden.

Then Mike, Candis, and I went out for drinks at New York New York when Mom watched Allie. We met some random people at the pretzel stand from Jersey and they were so smashed it was hilarious!
So, the trip home. On Sunday Mike and I woke up sick as dogs. Somehow we got packed up, checked out, and caught the shuttle to the airport. After waiting two hours for our plane to start boarding, about 15 minutes before boarding they said the flight was cancelled. Are you seriously kidding me? So Mike, Mom, James, and Candis joined the cattle drive of people running to the ticket counter to rebook. Our next flight was going to be at 11:30 the next morning. So we had to leave the airport at 5, stay in some rinky dink hotel they were going to pay for, and then come back at 9. Um, no. So we were able to get on a Southwest flight that night at 8. Yah! So we got into our house at 11:30 that night. Thank goodness we were feeling better the next day. I would not have survived sitting in an airport for 6 hours without the help of Candis and Mom. You guys are God sent! Thank you!
